A restaurant, bar lounge and terrace, located in the beautiful provençal village of Crillon Le Brave, in the Vaucluse department of Provence-Alpes-Côte D’Azur.

A restaurant, bar lounge and terrace, located in the beautiful provençal village of Crillon Le Brave, in the Vaucluse department of Provence-Alpes-Côte D’Azur.

Lara, originally from Scotland, and Sylvain, originally from the south of France, met whilst working together in a restaurant in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Between them, they have over thirty years of experience working in hospitality in France and the UK ; from 3-star Michelin restaurants and 5-star hotels, to exclusive use Scottish castles and private event companies.
 
After 15 years of living, working, and starting a family in Scotland, they decided to move to France at the end of 2021 to fulfil their dream of living, and raising their children, in the south of France, and owning and running their own business. Over the course of a year, they searched for the right property, and after many, many, unsuccessful visits, they finally found one that they immediately fell in love with. 
 
They have a passion for hospitality, service, food, and drink, and they hope that this is demonstrated through their business, CLOVIS & BASINA.

A Knowledgeable team

In 2025 Lara and Sylvain joined forces with Marine and Fabien (former Restaurant Le Vassol). All passionate about gastronomy, the terroir, and the use of local, seasonal produce, each individual brings with them their own expertise : Fabien as head chef, Marine as head pastry chef and Lara and Sylvain as front of house and all that goes on behind the scenes in running a restaurant. Our sister restaurant BIGOTÉ opened its doors in February 2025.

For you to know...

For those wondering where the name came from ! The name CLOVIS & BASINA is a personal one for us.

Clovis is the name of our Scottie dog, who we got when we lived in Scotland, and is named after the first King of France, Clovis I.

When we got our second dog, a Labrador, we wanted there to be a connection, and so we named her Basina after the name of King Clovis I mother, Basina of Thuringia.
